Join Anchorage's favorite historian, David Reamer, for a deep dive into the history of Anchorage's movie theatres. He'll be covering everything from the films and theater technology to industry monopolies, art films, porn, local myths, and the evolution from single screens to multiplexes. You'll also learn the scandal behind the movie deemed too shocking for 1964 Anchorage kids!
Ever wondered what a billiken is, or why a city with long summer days and freezing winters once had three drive-in theatres operating at point? Come find out, and stick around for rare archival footage spanning from the 1890s through the 2010s.

Midnight Summit Ensemble is serving up an evening of laughter through shared pain and wit crisper than your 4th Diet Coke!
Join us for an evening of hot tea someone actually wants to serve. This story telling program will feature the public airing of grievances from the customer service industry brought to you by the people who experienced them first hand. To shake things up we’ve added a twist by turning anonymous submissions into short sketches to be reenacted by local stars of the stage for an immersive experience. This is an opportunity for you to experience the burning rage or the shock of blinding stupidity with those who were forced to plaster a smile across their faces while living through it.
Are you a bad customer? What better way to find out than during our “Was I in the Wrong?” round where we answer questions submitted by the audience as to whether they were in the right (unlikely) or wrong in a past customer service experience.
The Customer is Wrong is a one stop shop for an answer to all your burning service industry questions.
Brought to you by Midnight Summit Ensemble, est. 2016, a collaborative theatre company dedicated to developing new works, reimagining classic stories, and creating bold, meaningful performances. We believe the strongest theatre is built through true ensemble collaboration, where every artist contributes to the creative process and shares ownership of the work we produce. At Midnight Summit Ensemble, no theatre is made by one person. Every production is the result of many voices coming together to create something greater than the sum of its parts.
Part of the proceeds will benefit CHOW Fundraising Organization. CHOW's mission is to support the lives of food/beverage/hospitality workers through shared stories, skills and resources. CHOW is “us helping us”: a non-profit mental health and wellness support group for people who work in food, beverage, and hospitality. We hold multiple weekly group discussion meetings online and in person, and offer classes in workplace wellness and both suicide and overdose prevention. We also can connect you with dozens of resources. We lift each other up so that we lose no one else to mental health struggles, addiction, or suicide.

Parlor in the Round returns to the Bear Tooth Theatrepub for its October season kickoff, bringing three exceptional songwriters together for an evening of songs, stories, improvisation, and spontaneous collaboration. Hosted by Kevin Worrell, Parlor puts artists side-by-side and leads them through a series of increasingly unpredictable musical rounds—from trading original songs and stories to improvising music inspired by audience suggestions. The night culminates in a brand-new song written by the artists together during intermission and performed for the first—and possibly only—time as the show’s finale.

Matt Hopper, Jamie Drake, and Taylor Dallas Vidic.
Matt Hopper has spent more than two decades touring, recording, and building a catalog that earned him the title “Alaska’s Finest” from Performing Songwriter Magazine. In 2016, The Head and the Heart recorded Hopper’s song “False Alarm” for their major-label album Signs of Light, released by Warner Bros. Records—a rare outside song for the band. Hopper’s songs have also appeared in film and television, and he has shared stages with artists including Dr. John, Todd Snider, The Lemonheads, Portugal. The Man, and The Head and the Heart. His distinctly Alaskan take on American rock and roll has earned praise from LA Weekly, Paste, Boise Weekly, and beyond.
Jamie Drake is a Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter whose lush indie-folk-pop has earned more than 25 million Spotify streams and acclaim from NPR Music, FLOOD, Atwood Magazine, and others. Her 2019 album Everything’s Fine landed on Wilco’s list of favorite albums of the year, and her career includes collaborations with Moby, Jim James of My Morning Jacket, Sarah and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, Sondre Lerche, and Mikael Jorgensen of Wilco. She has toured with Shawn Colvin, J.S. Ondara, DeVotchKa, John Splithoff, and Kiltro and appeared with the Watkins Family Hour.
Taylor Dallas Vidic is a Juneau-born singer-songwriter, vocalist, and arts producer whose work moves between jazz, Americana, folk, and rock. A recipient of a Rasmuson Individual Artist Award, Vidic released her ambitious debut album Cat & Mouse in 2026—a two-part record pairing fully orchestrated jazz-forward songwriting with a distinctly Alaskan folk-rock sound. A prolific collaborator and a vital force in Juneau’s arts community, she performs as a solo artist and with The Muskeg Collective while also appearing with projects including the Juneau Big Band and The High Costa Living.

Come dressed in your Halloween costume! Door prizes, lots of dancing, free professional photos uploaded to Facebook, dance cam, crawl zone, swag bags, and so much more!
The coolest dance party for families with kids, Jams for Fams hosts all-ages event recommended for kids 10 and under. DJs mix everything from current hits to party classics from the 70s – 2000s to keep the dance floor popping. There will also be interactive fun like the Macarena, Baby Shark and freeze dancing.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Non-walking babies get in free. Fees apply to all tickets sales. No refunds, no exchanges, no exceptions. Food is not included, but is available for purchase.

Beth Stelling is a comedian, writer and actress based in Los Angeles. Her latest release “The Landlord Special” on YouTube comes highly recommended by Vulture, The New York Times and Billboard. Beth’s most recent hourlong special “If You Didn’t Want Me Then” topped every Best of 2023 list when it premiered on Netflix along with her beloved 2017 half-hour special in the first season of “The Standups.” Her critically-acclaimed 2015 Comedy Central Half Hour “Boner Appétit to You” now lives on YouTube.
Conan O'Brien produced Beth’s very first hour special for HBO Max called “Girl Daddy” which The New York Times named “The Best Debut Special of the year,” adding, “It's a virtuosic performance, conversational while dense with jokes."
Beth has been a writer for the following television series: Rick and Morty, StrangePlanet, The Last O.G., I Love You America with Sarah Silverman, AnotherPeriod and Crashing on HBO. She’s a sought-after punch-up writer for feature films following her success as an on-set writer for the Universal hit, GoodBoys.
As an actress Beth has guest starred on Amazon’s RedOaks, Corporate on Comedy Central, and she played Ms. Fish on Peacock’s comedy RutherfordFalls. She has a podcast called “Sweethearts” that she inconsistently records with her best pal Mo Welch. You can still listen to her first podcast that she hosted with her mom, Diane, “We Called Your Mom.”

Sam Miller is a nationally touring comedian from Olympia, Washington. He is 6 foot 6, 360 pounds, has two kids, (one of them is on purpose) he's been married for 15 years, and has been clean and sober for 17 years. Sam likes to make jokes about what it's like to be a sober parent. He also likes to make jokes about what jails like in Yakima. His first album and special, Round Trip, was recorded and filmed under the tutelage of Grammy-winning producer Dan Schlissel, whose indie label, Stand Up! Records, Sam had recently signed a three-album deal with. Round Trip was released October 27th 2023 and immediately went to number one on the iTunes Comedy Charts. It even broke into the top 200 overall charts. Sam is a recurring guest and has been heard by an estimated 2.5 million listeners on the nationally syndicated "Bob & Tom Radio Show." He has written for Newsweek. He was the runner-up in the 2021 Seattle International Comedy Competition and won the Comedy on Trial Competition in 2017.

Produced by Bert and LeeAnn Kreischer, Shane’s very first special THE BLUE EYED MEXICAN was released in December 2023. Vulture named it as one of the stand-up specials not-to-be-missed in 2023, raving “The Blue Eyed Mexican, stands out for its beautiful directness and keen sense of good storytelling.
